Frequently asked questions

Why hold this symposium?

The current research landscape has made it increasingly difficult for researchers and practitioners at the intersection of ubiquitous computing and health to connect. Funding and travel restrictions have limited in-person opportunities. This symposium provides an additional venue to foster in-person connection in this community.

When will the symposium be?

The symposium is a full-day, in-person event on Friday, June 12, 2026, running from approximately 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For those who can stay in the evening, we will have an optional, informal dinner after the event (dinner is not sponsored).

Where will the symposium be?

The symposium will be held at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in Brooklyn, New York (campus map). The campus is in Downtown Brooklyn. We will send the exact address to those who RSVP closer to the event.

Will I have to pay for the event?

The symposium is free. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. A small number of travel grants for students will be available; more information on how to apply will be released shortly.

Do I need to submit anything to attend?

You are not required to submit anything to attend. We will have a call for posters and lightning talks—if you are interested in presenting, you can indicate your interest in the RSVP form.
